Enya is REALLY good.
Ooops-I almost forgot. I used to work at a nature store. We had some really cool music displays. I'm not sure if you really want to buy the cds, but you can go to one of these types of stores for artist ideas. Yanni has some really good music too. The girl that mentioned Yoga music is dead on. Also, all of Enya isn't instrumental, but her voice pretty much fades with the music. You should also check out the Pure Moods cds...really good stuff from Enya, Enigma, and some other cool relaxing music!

Here are some suggested albums, that you can play in total or mix to your pleasure. There are many Windham Hill and Reiki CDs that will suit your purpose. This is just a sampling.
Path: An Ambient Journey from Windham Hill, various artists
State of Grace, various artists
Sanctum Sanctuorum, Constance Demby
Koyasan: Reiki Sound Healing, Deuter

I have one I like in particular, a disc called the Magic of Strauss. It isn't so much what the music is that makes you relaxed it is what occupies your mind. You need to turn that off, and then the music will take over.

Go to a "new age" bookstore and look for tapes of waves on the shore, birds chirping, wind chimes, stuff like that. There are also musicians who were (in the 1980s) labeled "New Age," who made music specifically good for meditation.

There are some terrific cd's in the candle isle at wal-mart. all are instrumental and they vary by theme or style. My choice would be celtic woman or ocean. You'll find alot to choose from since they go by mood basically. Good-luck.
