The concept of working from home is legitimate but most offers of a home based business and work from home companies are not. If you pay money to 'work', you are a sucker.

Yes, you just have to research research and then research a little more :) It took me 4 years to find the perfect opportunity for me, but I fianlly found it.
I have been working for the nations premiere benefits company since Feb. of this year and am now able to stay home with my two girls and work from there :) This is the best thing that has happened to my family in a long time. Not only do I get to work from home, but I do not have to worry about paying outrageous prices for healthcare coverage. I receive an awesome benefits package with this company and it includes healthcare coverage for my entire household, a 401K, life insurance, and more.
This is not a get rich quick job by any means. I work approximately 2-3 hours a day Monday - Friday and occasional an hour or two on a Sat. or Sunday. I try and arrange it so that I am working during the girls naps or after they have went to bed. There are times that I do have to do some work while they are awake, but it has not seemed to be a problem so far
The owners have said that if you work diligently with this company a couple of hours each day then you will easily be earning 100,000 or more in two to three years, and I can see now how that is most definitely possible.
I am so excited about this company and the opportunity it offers other moms (and dads) that want to work from home. I know that you to will be excited when you take a look at what they have to offer.
I can guarantee you this company is not a scam. If they were why would all major pharmacies, vision care centers, and hospitals work with them? I myself use their benefits and have saved a ton so far this year. My mother-in law saves over $900.00 a year on her prescriptions alone.

I would also suggest checking out http://www.wahm.com . They have a ton of suggestions there. I would also suggest reading there message board, that is a quick way to see what others are doing from home :)

Yes, working from home is legit. You need to distinguish a home business and a work from home job. Home businesses will generally require a start-up fee, so don't think they are scams because they cost money. Work-at-home jobs should NOT require money because they are JOBS, and you should not have to pay to be employed. Know what you want and recognize the difference.
To your success!

I have friends that work from home for legal consulting. but since they live out in the middle of nowhere they got a post office box downtown so they could be listed in the downtown area business district this helps them more likely to be found when someone is looking for such consulting.
as for some of these companies that offer it most are not worth it. or a total scam.

Of course. But, the term "work from home" can mean many different things. For example, I have a business brokerage business that I do from an office over my garage. We're very profitable.
