There are a couple of products out there that will help. All that moving around has most likely damaged his "slime" coating and thats a bad thing. A product called "stress coat" works really well and is readyily available at petsmart/ pet supermarket

A healthy betta will be active and flaring at things. They need to be in a good sized tank, 3-5g with heater and filter. Remember that you can not keep 2 males together they will kill each other.

Try getting some stress coat, also place bettas in larger tanks or bowls till you can get an aqaurium.

He will slowly recover from the shock and it may take him a few days to a week to fully recover.

They are stressed out from all the moving and changing water. You need to get a 2.5 gallon tank (one for each, you can't keep them together) with a filter and a heater. Place the fish in that and don't even try to feed them for 2 days. They will settle in and get comfortable and then they will feel like swimming around and eating.

Disciple doesn't know much about bettas. Mine are incredibly active any time the see me. Some of my female have been known to leap out of the tank while feeding. Of course my males are in 5 gallon filtered tanks. You should read bettatalk. Remember the keys are water quality, temp, and food. (food ~= not over feeding)

He needs to live in a 2-10 gallon tank. They do not live well in vases/bowls. The tank's heat needs to be regulated. 75 degrees-80 degrees.

well...bettas do best in a stable environment: like in a 1-10 gallon tank with a filter and a heater

normal behavior. bettas aren't very active. they're not like goldfish, which moves around a lot. bettas like to stay still.
