Yes he is. Because of very poor teammates with poor basketball IQ and attitude, he can't take them to the next level.

HE IS THE BST PLAYER IN THE GAME...how many guys have scored 50+ points more than10 times in a season?? Kobe and Wilt Chamberlain!

Kobe Bryant is the most talented player in the NBA, but that doesn't make him the best. The best player gets everyone involved and makes everyone better. Therefore the nod goes to Shaq. Look what happened to the Lakers after he left. Then the Heat after he came. Sure Kobe and D-Wade are the most talented on their respective teams, but Shaq makes the team work.

Kobe is one of the most talented players. He just don't understand one of the fundamental elements of basketball, TEAMWORK. Like a lot of kids I have have a lot of talent in shooting the ball and playing defense, but they have a hard time dribbling well. But dribbling well is a job for the point guard, any teamwork is needed by all players. So Kobe is no better than kids in my team. Kobe is far more talented than they are though. Sorry, I don't really want to bash Kobe. But he can't bet my kids in terms of being a basketball player.

And compared talent to other professional players, Kobe got three rings with MVP Shaq at his prime. D-Wade got MVP and a ring with Shaq on the decline. So between the two guards, D-Wade is more talented. D-Wade is also better as a player because D-Wade understand all the fundamentals of basketball.

He is the best pure scorer in the NBA right now, but overall,
I think Lebron James might be the best overall player in the
league right now. The reason I say this is, while Kobe does
try to get his teammates involved, he has to take over when
they aren't hitting their shots. A prime example would be the
game where he scored 81 points. I watched parts of that game, and the problem was the Lakers were losing to the Raptors, because Kobe wasn't taking enough shots, because he was trying to pass the ball to teammates, who weren't hitting their shots. When he became the focal point of the offense, it resulted in a win for that game, because he was making well over 50% of his shots in that game, so in
that case hogging the ball is good.
Lebron can rebound, pass, play defense, and score. Lebron isn't selfish, plus the players around him (Gooden,
Ilgauskas, Hughes) are good enough to contribute 15 points
per game or more, depending on the situation. Kobe has Lamar Odom, who can be great or horrible, but that's it. Kwame Brown has potential, but is a project in the making. They don't have any real significant contributions in terms of
of their power forward or point guard in terms of offense.
Kobe is great in what he does well, but in terms of the overall package, I think players like Lebron, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitski and maybe to a lesser extent, Dwayne Wade are just as good or better in terms of their overall game, and impact to their teams.

well he knows how to make himself the best player on the court most of the times but i dont think he will ever learn the team concept he tryed his best to play that role this year but in the end it got there ***'s in the first round and out talent prevails and the lakers have no talent!!! if you ask me i believe kobe with opt out of his contract in the 2009 season or demand a trade out of los angeles unless they pull off a blockbuster trade durning this offseason to get kevin garnett or prehaps j-oneil cause anyone short of these two wont get it done in LA no matter if you bring in artest or bibby or kidd or gasol, etc the lakers are a historic franchise and if they keep getting bounced out of the first round of the playoffs since 2005 then i can see them dismantling the whole team even the great #24 kobe bryant,,,,

I think Kobe would destroy most players one-on-one, however basketball is a team sport. So I would not want him on my team, because he will never have another ring. The 3 he has are gifts from Shaq.

i wouldnt say the best player. but he is the best scorer. he doesnt give out enough assists or get rebounds to be the BEST player. i think the best player is steve nash. 19ppg 3rebounds per game and 13 assists per game! beat that.
