How to run pro-tools on a PC?

I've tried to research how to get the PC version of protools, but the website isn't really very helpful. My college has it on apple, and I wanted to be able to work with it at home. What hardware do I need to get, which version is best, and is it pretty much the same as the mac version?

There use to be Pro Tools FREE 5.0.1 version that you could download but I'm not sure if you can get it any more. Go to a search engine to find out. It only works on Windows 98 and maybe before.
