Well, until now I've watched hundreds of west-made documentary films about ancient world, BUT guess what !? in %99.9 of them there's no indications to the ancient world's super power, Persia ! there's no indication about the first and one of the biggest empires of this planet, there's no indications to the origin of human rights, anti-slavery, and etc. , as I said totally there's no PERSIA in your insane documentary films !!!!
WHY ?!

Don't give up hope:
"Iranian filmmaker Pejman Fakharian began to shoot a docudrama which is to feature episodes from the history of Persia, MNA reported.
Entitled "Persia, Capital of the World", the film is being produced by the Experimental and Documentary Films Center and is based on research carried out by contemporary Iranian experts combined with several Avestan sources.
Accounts given by Herodotus, Plutarch, and several other ancient historians have been compared and information has been extracted for use in the screenplay of the 90-minute film.
The film will also survey Iranian history from the Median until the Sassanid eras and will examine the reasons for the construction of Persepolis and the Choghazanbil Ziggurat.
In addition the documentary will critically cover the battles of Salamis, Marathon and Thermopylae and the invasion of Alexander the Great.
It is possible that the producer of this film aims to portray an accurate account of the Battle of Thermopylae as based on historical facts to counteract the distorted and historically inaccurate images produced by the Warner Bros. blockbuster."

You shouldn't be looking at Western made documentaries because Persia had little influence on the West and they forget about it. Egypt and the Mongols are also ignored. So is the Byzantine Empire. The Greeks and Romans are mentioned, but the Greeks are treated more like a footnote to the Romans than an empire in their own right.
You'll also find the Mayans, the Aztecs, the Toltecs and the Incans are ignored.
Oh, and let's not forget the Chinese and India.
Now the cure for this is to research, write and film your own documentary instead of complaining about it.

When Tom Hanks was in England filming BAND OF BROTHERS, the British media lamented that Hollywood was making a film that depicted the Americans as winning the war by themselves. What about the British contribution?
A wise Brit commentator answered that it was not the responsibility of the Americans to make movies about England; that was the duty of British filmmakers.
Precisely. If no one has made a great documentary about Persia then you make it, or help raise funds for a Persian documentarian.
BTW: check first with our National Geographic Society for what they have already done. You'd be surprised at how detailed our work is in vanished empires.

I would like to see a decent documentary made on the Persian Empire, the Achamenid kings, the Zoroastrian religion, the influence the empire had on later Greek and Roman thought and religion.
Time to get back to my roots man. :)

Which "insane" documentary films are you speaking of?
Please list titles, or else you are just wasting your breath and our time about the ancient world's "super power."

i does not say racist as a results of fact the character in the game did resemble somebody who had mild epidermis (dwindled middle-jap). What eeks me approximately that action picture is that it promotes 'powerful whitey' and white worship as each and all the characters and history solid are meant to be persian suited yet while that's the case why is the hero and heroine the two whitest human beings in the action picture while the undesirable adult men, sidekick and everyday human beings look greater tanned (middle jap).

Because there no longer is a Persia. They changed the name to Iraq and pretty soon by the look of things there wont be one of them either. It was still called Persia when I was in teens. As for documentarys and tv they write it how they see it. As with mel gibson films for instance they re write history and call it poetic license. Knowing half the people who watch will think its all true. Its a sick world
