Kemp is, indeed, one of the most overrated players in NBA history.
Absolutely no player who was in the league at the time he and Malone played would take him over Malone as a teammate.
Malone missed only about 7 games in his first 13 seasons in the NBA...Kemp was fat and lazy, and a drug addict as well.
Malone averaged about 38 min/game over his career, Kemp only 28 min/game.
Kemp was a six time all star, Malone was a 13 time all star.
Both lost NBA finals to Scottie Pippen (and the rest of the Bulls )... Kemp once, Malone twice.
Malone is the #2 scorer in the history of the NBA (36,928 points)... Kemp is #96 (15,347).
Malone 25 ppg 10 reb/game over his career (which, at 1,476 games, is significantly longer than Kem's 1,051), Kemp averaged 14 ppg and 8 reb/game.

Karl malone (as much as I hate to admit it!)
Shawn Kemp is one of the most overratted players ever to walk an NBA basketball court. Gary Payton made him what he was! Just Cause you get a nickname like the Reignman" doesnt mean SHI*! Remember Kenny "SKY" Walker?

Malone is the second leading scorer of all-time and I believe in the Top Ten in rebounds and Steals as well, so you have to say the "Mailman"

You cannot compare these two at all..
Mailman is a hall of famer.....period...
Kemp was a good player but Gary Payton had to do a lot with that.....
