You really can not compare the two, because they play two totally different positions. Peyton Manning may be known as a top 10 qb of all time by the time his playing time is finished, and LT might be the same for RB's when he is done. If you ask me who I would rather have when starting a franchise, I would say Peyton with no hesitation. Although LT is a very special player, good RB's are a dime a dozen.

Payton Manning is better. He has a championship (finally) and does more on offense then LT. Nothing against LT, but all he does is get the ball and run and know the plays. Manning has to get the snap without droppping the ball, know the plays, be able to read a defense, and not get sacked. Payton has to do and know far more than LT making Payton a better player.

Since we're making a strange comparison, I'd say Tomlinson due to field presence. Manning will spread a team out but has to constantly play spotless for his team to win. All tomlinson has to do is get on the field and the defense is forced to watch everything, running and passing. All about versatility.
On a side note, is anyone else bothered by the fact that LT is being used to shorten Tomlinson's name? Personally, I prefer to think of LT standing for Lawrence Taylor ( who I would also put above Manning ).

It's hard to compare them when they play different positions. LT is the most talented and best player in the NFL, but Manning has a ring and I'd say QB is more important than RB. It's close, but LT.

Better at what? better person? Better at running with the ball, better at throwing the ball? better Player to build a team around? better Fantasy Player? Need more details.
Manning is the better player to build a team around simply because there just isnt that many franchise QBs in the league, and if you have a chance to get one you dont pass it up, which is why QBs go so high in drafts. Runningbacks are pretty much replaceable, although LT is not really replaceable. LT is probably the best player in the league right now but running back just isnt that crucial a position as quarterback.

Well, Peyton has a ring....So I'd go with Manning.
But just think, LT is just getting started! Peyton is already at the peak of his career, highlighted by the SB win, but LT right now has more upside.

John Madden said last year that LT was the best PLAYER in NFL and may be the best running back of all time.
How are you going to argue with that?
Peyton is great and his TEAM won a Championship, he didn't do it alone.
The measure of the greatness of a single player should not be measured by Championships, by that logic, Barry Sanders was'nt great, does that make sense?
Or for that matter the Bears only won the Championship in 1985, does that mean that Walter Payton wasn't that great either?
If I could only pick one player in the NFl to build a team around, it would be LT!

Thats a close one, but I'd have to say LT because I love Tom Brady and I would never pick peyton manning over Tom Brady, so I'm going with LT.
