Unfortunately you have what is known as an interference engine. Which means that when the Timing Belt breaks, the pistons will HIT the valves that are no longer closing. You have an expensive repair on you hands now even if you do it your self. You need special for these German cars.

Timing belts should be changed between 60,000 to 90,000 miles to prevent this damage. It is part of you cars maintenance schedule.

nicely no matter if it truly is a nontolerence motor you bent your valves And to ascertain this if the motor is in time you may want to do a compression verify on the engine.yet i might want to turn the engine over purchase the crank with a ratchet and socket slowly to experience if the piston is hitting some thing if no longer do a compression attempt to work out in case you get some thing above one hundred lbs if no longer your valves are bent.

Check to see if it's an "interference" type engine that is damaged when the timing belt breaks (see link below). If it is, you need to remove all the spark plugs and do an engine cylinder compression test on each cylinder to see if you have the minimum cylinder compression readings for your engine.

Still having problems huh?

You need three things for an engine to run.

Fuel.
Spark.
Compression.

Do you have all three?
