I am a very happy person, happy with my life.
I can say in all honesty that I don’t care about what others say or think about me.
Sure, it’s always appreciated if they talk nice about me but if they talk mean or think I'm strange.. I don’t car.
I just do my thing and keep on doing it (without hurting people), no matter what others say or think.
A friend of mine, my best friend, thinks this isn’t really normal, she would like to be this way also but she also thinks it’s strange. But she loves me the way I am.
I don’t mind being normal or not, but we (my friend and I) wonder, what do you think? Is it so strange not to care about what others think about you? Then how come I don't?

I think you do care what others think of you, just not to a huge degree like most people.
Otherwise you wouldnt even ask us this question as you wouldnt care enough to be motivated to ask the question.
Dont start worrying now though. It is really healthy to not over analyse the thoughts of others, just care enough to show a healthy amount of empathy to have a stable social life.

Keep it up. People will call you weird but thats because they wish they could be like you.

its not normal (as in, most people aren't like this)...

also, depending on how much you don't care, it can be unhealthy....

it is good to not let what others say affect you in a negative way...but what other people say should be a way for you to determine how well you are doing as a human being...

if alot of people tell you that you talk too much (for example), then it probably means you talk too much. (if one person tells you that, maybe they're just being rude, but if everyone says it, it is something different).

I only mention this, because I work with kids...and they live in polar opposites. They either don't care what anyone says, or they care about what everyone says. Both opposites are unhealthy, i have noticed, for their social skills, and for their esteem, and their confidence.

The best thing is to be is in the middle. Don't let what others say affect your sentiment or feelings...but you should use it to help you become a better person.

I think it's very healthy and shows you have a good self esteem. It takes some people half their lives to get to the point where they can be comfortable just being who they are no matter what others think or say. I think it's great that you have found this freedom already. Help your friend learn to do the same thing. She will be much happier.

You have healthy self-esteem!

Congratulations! Don't worry about being "normal," focus on the fact that you're happy!

You have what they call good ego strength. It does seem rare, but it's a wonderful thing.
