cot(x)=1/tan(x) so just type in 1/tan(x) and it will work all the same :)

The COT button doesn't exist on most calculators.
You can however use the reciprocal of the TAN because:
e.g.
cot36 = 1/(tan36)

You obviously have a 'tan' button. So, find 'tan' of the angle and click division button and click '=' once or twice (as it varies from calculator to calculator). There u r left with the answer.

Three ways you can try:
1) find tan(x), and then find its reciprocal.
2) find 1/tan(x)
3) find cos(x)/sin(x)

Cotθ=1/tanθ or,
cosθ/sinθ or,
cosθ/â(1-cos²θ) or,
(â(1-sin²θ))/sinθ
all of these will work for finding Cotθ
