somebody scratched my car!...well more than scratched... it's like all scratched on the driver's side. Then on the rear corner it's indented, like almost underneith. There's a tiny bit of red paint transfer. It sucks so much and I have no clue what to do? It's my new car, just got it a year ago-white 05 corolla. I know for a fact that I did not do it! I'm not sure exactly when it happened but it was definitely within the last 48 hours. My mom said I should get an estimate and if it's over $1,000 than I should report the damage to my insurence. Thing is I'm in between getting new insurence so I don't have it right now(b/c I'm trying to find a cheaper place)! Is there anything I could do besides pay for it all myself-probably not right? and should I take it to the dealership to get it fixed or should I find some cheaper garage place?

what if I get insurence this week and then report it right after saying it just happened? I know that sounds bad but...?

ok pappy don't go all crazy on me, it's not like I can't afford insurence, it's just I'm looking for my best option-it's called being smart with my money. I pay close to $300 and I've been told I can get cheaper, it's not like I have an accident or a whole bunch of tickets, so that's what I'm doing. And FYI I've only been without insurence for 2 days! and I'm probably a better driver than you or half of the people.

Yeah, I'd say that you're kind of screwed and that does suck. Definitely get insurence right away though! Maybe after that you could try to file a report for it, I think you have to have full coverage though. Take pictures too just in case. Otherwise, just try to get some estimates, it doesn't sound like it could be that much, at least you weren't in an accident right.

Do you realize that no ins. is a violation of your loan agreement? Full coverage ins. is the only acceptable ins. according to your lender. They CAN repo your car for this infraction, so you need to correct this problem. You can also lose your license and car to the state!! That aside, you've already seen the only way to correct the problem. Even if you have ins. you need to check your deductible before turning in a claim. Sometimes it's cheaper in the long run to pay out-of-pocket rather than paying for the increase in your ins. rates. NOW, if you cannot affors the ins. dear you can't afford to buy the car! I know it's expensive but there are too many POORMOUTH NEW CAR BUYERS in the world already. Buy a used car for cash and you can get the cheaper liability ins. DON'T CONTRIBUTE TO THE PROBLEMS OF SOCIETY, DO YOUR PART TO BETTER IT!! One more thing, if your car were in the driveway during this time you would know exactly where to look for the perpetrator of this hit-n-run!! KEEP YOUR UNINSURED VEHICLE OFF THE STREET!!! I bet you don't even think of yourself as a criminal but you uninsured people are the worst flavor of criminal!! If you don't want to spend your $$ for insurance then take the bus!!!!

Before you wind up in jail for committing insurance fraud, try taking the car to a detail shop and ask them if the marks will polish out.

Your screwed, without insurance it's your problem. Get a bunch of estimates and pick one that does good work, and get it fixed.
