Hello, I was in an accident over 2 years ago ( it was my fault).
Two months ago I found out I was getting sued for personal injury...I have a lawyer and believe this lawsuit is completely ridiculus because I talked to the guy for a good half hour after the accident and he was fine, not to mention his car only had a slight dent in the front corner...anyway, I know about the public records section of credit reports and I just wanted to know if a pending lawsuit will show up on it, or will it only show if I lose the suit and have a judgement against me? I recently checked my credit and so far it doesnt show up but Im worried it will be put on there. Any help would be great!!

If you have insurance, you should contact your insurance carrier so that they can either settle the claim or defend against it. If it is settled or if it goes to court and a judgment is rendered, the insurance company will pay up to the policy limits. It will not show up on a credit report as a judgment against you.

If you do not have insurance, you will either have to defend yourself in court with a lawyer or have a default judgment entered against you. In such a situation, a judgment would ultimately appear on your credit report.

I presume you have insurance, and your lawyer was hired by the insurance company. The lawsuit will show up on your credit only if there is a judgment -- and it's bad only if the judgment is unpaid. The overwhelming majority of personal injury lawsuits are either dismissed or settle before trial. Even if there is a judgment against you, I doubt, based on what you've told us, that it will exceed the limits of your insurance policy.

It will appear on your credit once a judgement is issued. I wouldnt worry to much about that, but it will be a problem if you try to buy a house because it is a matter of public record

definite. there's a statute of limitations on motorcar injuries, that's a civil rely. If that 2 years isn't up, she would have the ability to nonetheless sue you for any damages, even if if its punitive, sources, etc. besides the actuality that your coverage had paid for the damages to her motor vehicle, it does not count variety in direction of the medical expenditures she and her new child had, nor the misplaced wages she had whilst out of artwork. If she or her new child remains in discomfort, you or your coverage company could could desire to pay previous, present day and destiny medical expenditures. you will greater desirable than probably could desire to get an legal expert for this.

If you get a judgment against you it will,. but if you are ordered to pay the court house back it wont, unless you dont pay, then they can suspend your license and put you in jail.
