Good intent, but easily abused. Consider scenarios
such as the Salem Witch Trials. It should be up to
each individual's morality to decide what is good,
evil, or unproven.

180 degrees in the wrong direction, friend.
Except for the crusades and some hired guns, most participants in wars all believe that they are good and are acting or doing what is best for the greater good. Chop, chop. Or maybe worse yet, that they are killing inhuman creatures like so many wild beasts that the earth would be better without.
Love exists, evil is the absence of love and nothing more.

I have known and worked with many Germans, and they are good people. Hitler rose to power among these good people, and he and his cronies committed attrocities, but he was assisted by the silent collusion of the masses.
Today in the United States we have a corrupt government ignoring the will of the people, sacrificing brave young men and women to steal oil for people who already have too much wealth and power, all to secure a "legacy" for the most evil leader in the Western world.
Good people are doing something, but we Americans must all make our voices heard and demand that our corrupt regime change its policies; we must return to the goal of America evolving as a free and just nation. It's not too late, and we may achieve that goal, someday.

The good and evil that you see don't even exist in reality, at least not outside of the mind that believes in them. They are only judgments passed by the individual from their own unique perspective. What one person sees as bad or evil may seem to be the only logical thing to do from some other perspective. The ideas of both good and evil are point of view specific. This is why people like bush and bin laden are either loved or hated. Bush is seen as good by people who share his fear based thought system. Those who have a compassionate concern for all of mankind often see him as evil.
Bin laden is much the same. He is a villain in much of the western world, but he is somewhat of a celebrated pop star on the Middle East. There are T-shirt shops that sell items with his picture as though he was Jesus. It all depends on your point of view or perspective.
To sum it all up good is the name we give to people who do things that we think we like.
Evil is the name we give to people who do the things that we don’t like.
This is of course based solely on our particular point of view.
Love and blessings

Have you heard of reification of the zero? This consists in regarding nothing as something in its own right. Do you have a substance called nothing in your pocket?
An absence of something is not a something in its own right. Darkness does not exist as such, darkness is the absence of light. Death does not exist as such; death is the absence of life. Evil does not exist as such; evil is the absence of good.
