My best rock concert ever is probably a tie between Tom Petty and the Rolling Stones.

For Tom, I had waited 11 hours (it was a festival show) to get a front row seat, but it was totally worth it, I was delirious and dehydrated, but Tom and the boys put on one of the best shows ever. They got a perfect mix of hits I love, more obscure songs I love, and covers I love. Halfway through the show it started to rain, and I must say, one of my favorite memories ever is of Mike Campbell shredding the American Girl solo in the pouring rain as lightning flashed behind the stage.

The Stones were just incredible. I love them, everything about them, and I'm just so psyched I got to see them. They put on a show 1000 times better than most bands today, and they're old enough to be my grandparents. They had so much energy, and it was the funnest show ever.

edit: Whoever is thumbs-downing everyone, you're ridiculous. Thumbs up for all.

Nine Inch Nails at the Worcester Centrum Centre May 2000.
Though, I just saw Ronnie James Dio perform the Heaven and Hell Tour with Black Sabbath Thursday night at the Tsongas Arena, Lowell, Ma- with Megadeth and Machine Head and the whole evening was unbelieveable!!
A close second, for sure.

Ive been to around 190 shows and probably seen around 400 bands so it's hard to narrow it down. I base "best show" on how the artist was musically and how good of a show they put on, I have seen some major bands with huge budget shows that just sucked...but maybe they were having an off night. One of the best shows I saw was Rammsteins set on the family values tour years ago in Phoenix. They were midway on the bill and just were incredible. I saw Pride and Glory for $5 at the Ritz in Roseville, Michigan. No 'stageshow" at all, but musically, they tore it up. Other bands I saw that were great are Rush, Black Label Society, Marilyn Manson, Weird Al Yankovic, and Joan Jett. My fingers would fall of if I listed them all.

While U2 is a great band, my personal best was a Godsmack "mini concert" at Jimmy Kimmel. I just love those guys so much! When Sully Erna ends the show on "You've been a HE** of an audience, thank you very much!" You know he means it! And the music was superb in quality
