Money can help make life a little easier, but when it comes right down to it, happiness is what you make it. We all have good days and bad, but with a good attitude, you can make life happier by being happy within yourself. Doing for others is a good way to alleviate the, "woo is me attitude", and let's face it, there is always someone that is worse off than you. Money can buy many things in life, but happiness, love, health, and being a good person is not one of them.

It can't buy happiness, but it can get you WAY closer to it than poverty can:
1. Health: Money will get you best the doctors, into the best hospitals, afford you the best care.
2. Friends: sure, maybe they only like you for your money. You may never know. But if they turn out to be jerks, you can buy new ones!
3. Stress: the #1 cause of stress (and marital problems) is money worries. If you have money, you don't have to worry about it.
4. Comfort: money will buy you a softer mattress, a smoother running car, a home with central heat and air. These things will make you happier than a hard mattress, a junk car, and/or living on the streets in a cardboard box.
5. Education: school costs money. So does traveling. Both these things help to make people smarter, more insightful, more charitable. If you have money, you can afford a good education and the opportunity to travel and get to know/understand other people.
Bring on the big bucks !

Regarding your last paragraph I would be lying if I said I wouldn't be happier with the clothes, car and holiday home. Well, I have the clothes and the car and luckily we go to Spain on holiday every year so I consider myself very lucky indeed, cos a lot of people I know cannot afford a holiday. Money does not solve lifes problems because if you had billions it cold not stop you from dying from Cancer or some other dreaded illness like Alzheimers when you just would not know how much money you had got"" The way I look at it is, there is always someone worse off than yourself! Minxy.

#3 Take care of your Friends and Family NO MATTER WHAT!
#4Put some money away...SO you dont burden others with your past IE: Burial, mortgage or the credit card..Pay for your own before you go and allow others to see how you lived.
#5 Buy trees, flowers, plants and put bird feeders out , Put up bird houses and squirrell feeders. Watch wildlife prosper around you. Watching a fawn feed from its Mom under an apple tree is beautiful!!

lottery winners, take for example Jack Whittaker.
Andrew Jackson “Jack” Whittaker, Jr. is a West Virginia businessman who became famous when he won US$315 million in the Powerball multi-state lottery. At the time it was the largest jackpot ever won by a single winning ticket in the history of American lottery. He has become even more famous since his win due to several well-publicized brushes with the law as well as personal and family tragedies.

Nope.
Just one reason, after the second world war, USA consumption of goods increased by 300%, but people aren't any happier. In fact it seems depression is rampant in the USA. If you could buy happiness, it would be there, but the people aren't happy.

money cannot buy happiness
*true happiness comes from love and friendship
*the richest people (celebrities..) are always seeking attention by doing "bad" things because they're bored and unhappy.
*the most happy and carefree people are the young children that have no thoughts of money
*money has a way of turning people against eachother, and as a social species, that is not a happy thing
*I am not rich, but I love my life and my friends and I am indeed a happy person.

Happiness comes from the soul and and when a
person has it , it's value is more than any dollar
amount. Yes it takes money to have things, but it
takes only feelings to be happy and that is free.

I agree that money can't by happiness and I would never try it eather. yes it's okay to buy things for people, if that's what you want. I buy thigs for my friends only because I care. I know I don't have to but that's what I chose.
