Your size could be a factor. Also if the baby is in a certain postion the dr may not be able to find the heart beat. It's like the little guy is hiding.

If they found it on the ultrasound and everything seemed alright there, then don't worry about it. Both of my babies were little rascals and were very low in my abdomen, making it difficult for the OB to find their heartbeats in the exam room. Once the baby gets bigger, it should be harder for him/her to hide in there, and the doctor should be able to find it relatively easily. I think I had to keep reminding my docs to check really low on my abdomen (not to be too graphic, but they had to go down into my pubic hair area to find the heartbeat) up until about 20 weeks, otherwise they would start to get worried when they couldn't find anything.
Good luck and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

It's possible sometimes it's hard to find a heartbeat because of the where the baby is. The didn't find my daughter's heart beat until I was 12 or 14 weeks pregnant I think. They can't at all until 10 weeks though.

sometimes the doctor cannot find the heartbeat on the doppler due to the position the baby is lying in. This gets better as baby gets bigger, so as long as he has checked with a u/s then I wouldn't worry too much

If the doctor wasn't concerned about it and you have seen it on an u/s, don't worry. It depends on the position the baby is in and your body type as well. If you are concerned call your doctor. I'm sure they would rather talk to you and ease your fears rather than have you upset unnecessarily.

Very Normal. The baby is still VERY small, and depending on where it was laying at the time, and the position of your uterus, this is very common. They saw it on the ultrasound, so don't worry about it.

No, with my first one I was 33 weeks along before they heard the heardbeat. I think it has to do with the baby's position.

I wouldnt worry as long as they have seen it on the scan, in another two weeks or so you will be able to hear it at your visits
