I guess they hate themselves. They bleach their skin and get eyelid surgery there.

Their are darker skinned anima charicters, it just their a more recent addition. Its not to be racist its just in costum, just follow thier history. They use to put white make up (made of Bird poop) as their faces, (or at least the women did) but anyways its just in their past history paler their skin the nicer type thing not racism. Thanks for asking this! I've always wondered that, too.
The anime is always white people and I've yet to see an anime that has any characters that resemble their people at all. I mean even when the hair is blue, I'd expect to see slanty eyes or something, but never.

I believe because they assimilated American animation techniques and because they admire the White form. If they do have actual Whites in the anime, they are clearly more pale than the Japanese characters, though, and may have smaller eyes.

it's because pale skin and big eyes are looked at as desirable features to the japanese, that's why all the women have eyes half the size of their heads

It's because in Japan pale skin is concidered attractive. It is also a lot easier to get that shade when drawing anime.

Well not all anime is white. There are many asian based cartoons. Actually more asian based. Maybe the white ones are more appealing to Americans, therefore brought to the States.

Eh. I guess maybe they don't have a whole lot of Africans there? Like here, we have more African Americans. So a lot of our shows do, too. But in Japan, they don't have as many, so I guess their shows don't....
