Do you squash? Wash away? Put outside? Or leave alone?
I think that if you chuck them outside they will just come back again. I always squash as I think drowning them is a bit of a prolonged death.

I either:

Hide, leave the house, scream and cry, throw my kitten in it's direction (hoping she'll kill it) or get my partner to kill it (squash it dead and flush it down the loo :)

Just last night we found an odd looking little dude crawling about. Had a funky rouns body with cool markings. Because we weren't familiar with him we caught him under a cup and slid a piece of stiff paper underneath it then turned it over and tapped it so he'd fall down into the glass. We watched him for awhile and then took him to the far end of the yard and threw him over the fence into the bushes by a public parking lot.
There is a "wispy" one that we leave alone in the hallway. She's made a small web really high up on the wall. We call her Charlotte and she catches anything that gets in the back door. She earns her keep and she is common (we know her type is harmless-most are) so she gets to stay.

I live in the country and the spiders here are bloody massive. I am a real wuss when it comes to dealing with them. If they are not toooo enormous I find that they will cling to a microfibre feather dustery thing I have and I can shake them outside but if they are of the too big to handle variety I have to call in the cavalry and get someone else to evict them. Even though I am petrified of spiders I can't kill them . Strange thing arachnaphobia , mice rats etc don't phase me at all but all those legs eeeuch freak me out I don't like daddy long legs(crane flys I think ) either .

I like to play the hero and pick them up with my bare hands and put them outside!

Everyone else in the household seems to dislike spiders and they stand and gasp in admiration at my bravery ( I don't even mind big ones)

However I come unstuck if a moth or butterfly gets in I'm a complete wreck and have to be rescued....yes I know it's pathetic!

Squash them if I see any. I usually spray all along the base boards inside of my house since that is where they seem to come from. That seems to keep them from being a problem in my house.

There is a spray that you can get that doesn't make you sick or your pets sick, but it does get rid of the spiders. Works very well.

That depends on what color they are, if they're a normal blackish gray and a little jumpy i say leave them be.

BUT!!! If they're small and brown or light brown kill them fast!!!
These are brown rectluse spiders, very dangerous and there is no anti-venin for their bites. These Rectluse spiders usually live in homes and there have benn many cases where people and children have died within hours because of their bites.

BE CAREFULL!!

If they are the ugly ones I squash them; if not I leave them alone.

Don't kill them please, they are just trying to survive like the rest of us. Put an upturned glass over them and slide a piece of thin card underneath the glass. The spider is safely trapped inside the glass and you can then take it outside the house and release it. Somewhere that it can have a bit of shelter is good; shrubs or hedges are good places.

I get a large glass, cover the spider, slide a bit of card between the glass and wall, hold at arms length and throw the spilder over the balcony!

Either that or I get my man to get rid of them or even push the cat towards it if its on the floor then it get her to eat them!!
