i would put community fish like neon tetra. phantom tetra, platys, serpae tetra, corydores and oh don't forget the African dwarf frogs they are the most fun to watch. and there very easy to take care of. I actually have 2 tanks in my other one i have goumari a dwarf and a kissing and a rainbow shark. an a couple of corydores. these are a bit more of an aggressive fish. I WOULD DEFINITELY GO WITH THE FROGS. they also get a long with a lot of differnt fish.

in view which you have a 5 gallon it extremely limits the fashion of fish. yet there remains some fish you've got in there. Like Guppies, Tetras, and a Betta. Plus you could desire to put in some Ghost Shrimp and a few Snails to help sparkling it and so as that they are cool to reveal screen.

For salt water aquariums I would say lionfish, starfish, moorish idols, clown fish and maybe even an octopus (if you're feeling adventurous) but if you do get an octopus you must be very careful, because they're very smart creatures and can escape if the lid is not closed properly. If you're looking at having a freshwater tank angelfish always look good (but they are very fragile and difficult to keep alive because the ph and water temperature has to be just right or they will die), neon fish are very small but still look cool. There's even this species of freshwater shark, they only grow to about 3, but they're still cool to watch and are actually very good with the other fish, they're rather shy actually.

I would suggest angels for one, they are certainly both pretty and interesting. For a very colorful and active tank you could try a community of various tetras. Congo tetras and neons will provide lots of color and flash. Mix in a few lemon tetras and flame tetras and that would look spectacular. Of course, there are many , many other species that would work well too.

I have a species tank of Green Tiger Barbs, and I love it. They are a shink green, but look pale when they sleep. They greet me when I come home, and it's neat seeing them swim together. They also sleep with their nose straight down and fins up toward the top. I just enjoy them, and they are beautiful. It's been 4 months since I set this tank up, and I haven't had a single death.
