Eureka Springs Arkansas. This is a really fun little town in the Ozark mountains. There is always some little parade or activity going on. It's a hippy community so everyone fits in and is accepted. Twice a year they have a cross-dressers convention. That's really a blast!! There is good food, bed and breakfasts, old historical hotels, shopping ....

There are small towns everywhere. You just have to look at a map. Some are not on a map. What ever big city you are in, just look 30 minutes outside the city limits and you will find a lot of them.

Depends on where you want to go, and how far you're willing to travel. Upstate New York, Central, and Northern Pennsylvania, most of Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Mississippi, Alabama, Kentucky and and Indiana are full of small towns.
