To my knowledge no ICC team has been constituted so far. For ur question who is the best player, I would say nobody has qualified for that in my opinion because if one were to be the best player, he has to be a good batsman, a good fielder and a good bowler so that he contributes one way or the other in helping his team win matches. Ponting comes close to this but he is not a bowler at all but otherwise he has done well with the bat, as a fielder and also as a good captain.

It's definitely Sachin Tendulkar. The guy is too brilliant to describe with simple words! He has done so much for the sport that it's almost impossible (for me anyway) to think about cricket without him.
He holds so many records including the most test and ODI centuries. He started playing in international cricket while still in his teens, which is an achievement in itself. Just having a look through his statictics is enough to amaze anyone.

Which ICC Team you are referring to? If you mean best player in the game of cricket, it will be qauite unfair to single out any player as in the game of cricket, Batsmen as well are bowlers play important roles. Hence it will be fair to identify the best batsman and best bowler.
In my opinion, the best bowler is M. Muralkitharan of Sri Lanka and the best batsman Sachin Tendulkar of India in ODI and Brial Lara in Test Cricket.
In case you want to single out only one player taking into consideration the overall performance, I consider Ricky Ponting as the best player at present considering his consistent batting, good fielding and also good captaincy.

Ricky Ponting. He is fantastic in the field. He is a brilliant batsman and he is a succesful captain of the Australian Cricket Team. He has lead his team to victory in the world cup of 2003 and 2007.

Every team have 2 or more than best cricket players. so it's tuff one.But, I think sanath jayasurya.Because, he has good form in any time & any position like batting,bowling,fielding.
In INDIA , every players are best players . But they are not continue the good form. I LIKE DINESH KARTHIK. BECAUSE, HE DONE BEST PERFORMANCE IN ALL TOURNAMENTS. HE IS BEST CAPTAIN IN INDIAN CRICKET TEAM FUTURE also.
