Sounds as if your hard drive has either lost a connection (IDE, SATA or power) or has taken a dump. You might need to replace the hard drive.

You need the driver for the controller on your motherboard. It should come with your laptop or you may have to download it from the manufacturer. Once you have the driver, reinstall XP and hit F6 during setup. It will tell you to install the disk containing the driver. If you do it correctly, windows will find your hard drive and continue the installation.

Hard Dik eh?

Does your BIOS detect a hard drive? Switch on the power and press F2 to go into the BIOS and look in the hard ware disk drive section for your hard drive. Set it to Auto Detect.

When you turn on the laptop, press F1 or Del to enter BIOS. Go to standard CMOS features. If your hard drive is not detected by BIOS, it may no longer be working, it has loose connections or somebody stole it from your laptop.

"setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer" is very serious.

Re-post with specific details and tell us what happened to your PC that you are trying this.
