Practice your talents with the Band, WHILE you're in College. You can beiging getting a follwoing, in the years that you spend in College. Once you've gradutated. You'll have the knowledge to handle it as a business. And have the knowledge to fall back on. If the Band doesn't make it. Just being honest.

go to a music con/college/uni.
you'll be playing and studing and undoubtably form a band while at the con or college or whereever.
