I know that it has to do something with allowing the electric field and magnetic field to pass through free space and it is helpful in understanding electric charges. But I still need some more explanation so budding physicists, physics admirers and physics geniuses please get me an answer soon :)

And thank you hey dude for the compliment :)

In general, permittivity is a constant of proportionality between the electric displacement and electric field intensity in a given medium. When that medium is a vacuum then it is called the permeability of free space.

The permeability of free space is the ratio between magnetic displacement and magnetic field strength (in a vacuum).

The speed of light in this case will never be zero; inside the event horizon it falls to the singularity, while anywhere approaching the event horizon from the outside, the barely escaping light gets extremely red-shifted be still moves its normal speed. So there's never any division by zero to worry about.
