Iwant to stop my friends to stop sending vulgar jokes in their e-mail. Can't Yahoo stop it before reaches me. I have been told that they have been told by the computer authorties the recipient does not wish to receive such mail Please help.

You can go into the filters and block their e-mails
If Yahoo refuses to help you I suggest getting ahold of the Attorney Generals Office and see if they can help you

Spam has long been a problem of the internet. Not only on our mailboxes but it also exist on many different forms. If you're using Yahoo Mail as mentioned, Yahoo already has a good spam filtering mechanism. However, the ones from your friends may not be considered as spam since this does not fit with the basic spam filters of yahoo. If you don't want this to go to your inbox, try to use the filter facility of Yahoo Mail which will help on putting in all files with your selected keyword into one filtered folder/directory. Then, you don't have to read this and perhaps delete this altogether at any given time.

I assume you do not wish to lose your friends as you cannot respond with an appropriate joke... true friendship does not exist these days...my opinion, if you could afford, get rid of these friends if they don`t care about your feelings..totally block their mail..
Use Yahoo spam as everybody here suggests..

Get some new friends.
You can't use a spam filter because it is not SPAM.
If you use a spam filter it will block all mail from these so-called friends.

Tell them to stop sending you junk.
If they ignore you, edit the offenders out of the Yahoo address book, then mark them as Spam the next time they send you junk.

I assume you've asked these 'friends' not to send it. If they're not listening, they're not friends.
You can block specific addresses in Yahoo! mail.
