If I look about, I normally do from right to left; if a sign catches my eye and then I look about from left to right it feels odd.

Dyslexia is a brain malfunction,so it is common in all languages. Researches have been made in foreign languages (for example, languages that are written from right to left-like arabic-or chinese ideograms), but data showed that dyslexia persists in all written languages. Considering word as an image is the best way to recognize it. As a whole and not as letters or syllables to put together.

I do not see why it should be - the problem is that dyslexic people 'reverse' letters or numbers, or swap them round.

My sister is badly dyslexic and she had to learn what words say by recognition, in the same way as you can look at a picture of a dog and know it is a dog. She had to do the same with the word.

I am not sure what difference it would make with reading the other way round. It may be interesting to see if any research has been carried out on this!

My son is dyslexic and he says the words jump about on the page -so whether he is reading left to right or right to left wouldn't make any difference.
