I use a Seagate external hard drive with my iBook G4. There are several folders on it, but there is one that I refer to often and have therefore placed in the "sidebar" of Finder.

Recently I turned off the Seagate for a long time (maybe 2 to 3 weeks) and I've just plugged it in again. Everything works normally...all the folders can be accessed, except for the folder in my Finder bar. When I try to access it, it tells me that the volume can't be found, although all the other folders work fine. The folder icon of that particular folder has also turned to the Network icon (that blue sphere within a square) and it's labelled as an Alias (0 KB).

What has happened? Have I lost all my data? How do I recover the folder?

Go to Apple's web site and look in the Forums, you are not alone.

you are able to't format a force to artwork with both styles of pcs. both save 2 pcs as record servers, or pick a unmarried format, save each of the drives on one computing gadget, and save that computing gadget as a record server. both form of computing gadget can study a record from (and write one to) a force that's shared on the community - see you later as you're making confident that the record style is one which both pcs can study. Disk format is apparent at the same time as the force is suitable to a unique computing gadget on the community.
