When my parents had their 35th, my siblings and I (there are 6 of us) sat down and arranged a different day trip for them each month. You could plan just one of course, as a gift from you and your husband...we could handle 12 total as there were so many of us! In any case, we chose places my parents had never gone but had exspressed interest in or places we thought they would like. One trip was to a living museum where they spent the evening preparin a meal as they would have in the 1700's..over the fire, no electric mixers, etc. Another trip was to tour a winery. Another was for a tour of West Point . The last trip, which was during thier anniversry month was actually a long weekend tour of Penn Dutch country in PA, along with a trip to a huge flea market (they adored digging for treasures!). They loved the day trips..it gave them time to get away and explore but did not take my Mother too far from home for too long (her father was ill at the time). Plus after 35 years of marriage, they had plenty of "stuff" but after raising six kids (and I was still young at the time) they certainly never had enough time alone!

A perfect gift would be a personalised DVD. I did that for my friends wedding gift and she was overwhelmed. You just need photos of them from when they were younger, then throughout their lifes together, including their wedding day and special pictures, etc. Then find somewhere that create video style dvd's. You can choose songs to be put to the background, wording, etc. It will be like a wedding video type thing when its done & you can even choose a photo for the disc itself. Its a lovely gift they can keep & will have meaning to their anniverssarie. I used a Yorkshire company called in vision and it only cost £60 for 2 copies.

Give them something special to share, that you can afford of course. A trip to somewhere they always wanted to go. A home theater. A porch swing.
We have a 45 coming up and all we expect is a visit/phone call, and something small from the heart.

Are there any good shows on around your area which they might like? How about all going out for a nice meal together? Something for the garden perhaps - a garden ornament, bird table, bird bath, garden seat they can share a cuppa together on? A weekend break?

dont know if this sounds any good but for my parents annerversay i gave them a really nice photo album of their lives together. it was like a collage of the years they had been together and each page told a little story i must admit it was hard getting all the photos and really had to route round all the family but it was a lovely memory for them to keep and look back on together. my friend is also doing a family photo for her parents she getting all family for one big photo shoot hope these help you to have some sort of idea and good luckxxxx

If you have enough pictures through the years, like nice pictures, you could put together a nice album for them, and give it to them over a really nice dress-up dinner.
