Did you upgrade to service pack 2? I know my laptop had problems until I upgraded to SP2, which has better wireless management.

That is located is loocated in the control panel under administrative tools- then go to services- near the bottom you will find it, then click start services. Like everything in windows there are 3 ways to do everything but this answers your question and should get you your wireless connection back. I have used it successfully in the past.

Actually, I just did this myself and had the exact same problem. I uninstalled the card completely, then I directly hooked up my internet (using the actual cable) to connect my laptop to the wall. I restarted my computer and then the wireless card was detected and the computer proceeded to install the drivers from the web. I then disconnected the cable, restarted the computer. with my wireless card in, and my wireless internet was finally detected. I hope this helps you a bit!

When you formatted your laptop, you erased ALL the drivers. After a fresh installation of Win XP, up next should be the chipset drivers, then the graphics driver, audio driver, wireless device driver. Only then should you start loading your softwares and files.
