Sadly, (most commercial) music isn’t about music anymore!

Don’t get me wrong. I grew up in a highly visual music era.

But in the past, the eye candy - was often backed up by memorable MUSIC!

Back then, eye candy was subtle - and not yet ‘omnipresent’.

Some eye candy sat andwiched in record shelves and bookshelves. But - YOU'D have to HUNT for them!

Music videos were treated like mini art films.

But not anymore.
...

My suggestions:

Children should be nurtured with tasteful musical. Guitar music and other forms of 'real' music often have a more respectable image.

And let’s ditch the all-sex-but-no-art! If they must get erotic - please, at least back it up with real music/ art!

P.S. I disagree that ‘sex sells’ unconditionally! Children are naturally incapable of appreciating such things!

Uninspired music+oversexed imagery+underage target audience =?

the fact is, most of the music that rolls out of the music "industry" lacks in a little something called quality. half of the time it isnt even music. its just people talking.

the wonderful thing is that the "artists" who make the music know this too well.

hence, they have to get(read coerce) people to watch their videos on tv. and the only way they can attract a nice, wide audience is by including a lot of sexual content.

It makes me realize that I love living in a Western society where people aren't stoned to death for showing a little leg. Sex has been around in videos since the beginning of the use of "video". Look up the movie "Black Timber" - its the very first porno movie, is a silent movie, and it was made in the early part of the 1900's! Sex in art has been going on for thousands of years - its really nothing new - its just an attempt to get people to watch the video, and there is a reason that it works.

It's absolutley lame and pathetic, these musicans think that by having some hoochie shaking her a** in everyone face that we will respect them and want to be them but the thruth of the matter is they really just look like losers. And men aren't the only ones guilty of this, woman musicans are just as bad.

gratuitous and unnecessary. I want to watch the singer or band play and sing the music; not watch some half dressed woman? shaking her a**.
