Kind of a weird question. Strength, by itself, can be good or evil - Hitler was strong. Some people think Gandhi was. Reagan picked on a few weak countries and went along with the military industrial complex and raised defense spending. Think of Eisenhower who was a general in World War Two going against the military industrial complex. That takes much more strength. Johnson, a Democrat, escalating troops in Vietnam, Nixon going to China.
Don't forget Kennedy standing up to the Soviet Union in the Cuban Missile crisis. That took strength because there was a real possibility of all out nuclear war. But he felt he rather be dead than red.
Lincoln could have given up and split the country, and perhaps saved us from a civil war.
Washington was likely the strongest since he both led his troops in a brutal war and peacefully stepped down from the presidency when his turn was over and kept our democracy intact.
Ford was weak for pardoning Nixon.
Teddy Roosevelt was strong for standing up to special interests even though he was a Republican. He actually was one of the earliest of proponents that the government should play a larger role in the economy.
Truman: sought out the Nazis to help in the cold war. You decide.

Without a doubt its the current Bush, most would have buckled under the pressure he is under.
Most would have thrown in the towel and said it is better to withdraw and fight the terrorist here on our own land.
Most don't think that terrorist exist but I can tell you they do.
My best freind pt an ad on craiglist and he got a response from Suresh "Tamil Tiger"
I met him and ate dinner with him many times, he even made a website for me.
He worked at micro soft in Bellevue Wa.
He played with my children, seemed a gentle human being, bt in reality he was one of the most wanted by the FBI
He funneled millions to Shri Lanka, and this from a 23 year old man.
Now terrorist are out there waiting, why is it Iraq wants the US to stay, so does the Saudis, the Jordanians but the dems want them home, why?
They think alike like the terrorist's, Iran wants us out yesterday, why?
They want to dominate the region, is this a big deal?
Yes it is the biggest threat to peace since Hitler.
Do reasearch on Momehnajad and see what he is saying, Hilter said prior to WW2 what he planned.
It is the same with the Iranian leader.
But I know we are sunk already as a country, we will lose this war, yes we are in a war.
Time will tell that Bush was the last break water to the terrorist, why no attack's since 9/11?
They fear what he will do in response.
Wait till Hillary gets the reins then they will make a move, wonder what her response will be.
This from a woman who allowed her husband to make a fool out of her to every person on the planet.
Some leader.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt won four consecutive elections. He led the country out of the Great Depression caused by the last long period of unrestricted corporatism, prepared the nation for a war that most Americans refused to believe was coming and led the nation through the struggle as Commander in Chief until his death in office.
Perhaps only Lincoln faced as big a challenge. FDR served for fourteen years, but Lincoln only five.
As for Reagan, what crisis he dealt with could be compared to the Civil War, the Stock Market Crash or Pearl Harbour? He is being given credit for winning the Cold War, but that was a foregone conclusion after the Cuban Missile Crisis. For that we need to recognize John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
The strongest Republican since Lincoln would be Eisenhower, who was so strong nobody dared mess with him. Nixon had a spine as well, but his character was flawed.

President Regan was a popular president. Remember also he involved himself in the Iran-Contra Affair. So even he stepped on his own shoes.
What defines a strong president? I though Eisenhower was a good president, but like many he weekend himself by giving power to people in his cabinet that didn't deserve it and used it wrongly.
Eisenhower was a diplomat from the beginning. In my personal opinion he was never a good General. If it hadn't been for leaders such as Patton, that got things done and worried about his soldiers the war would have been longer and worse then it was.
Some had WARS during their time in office, some had depression and other problems. Then there were the Lame Ducks.

I concur with you that Reagan as one of the strongest and toughest on policy, foreign and domestic. As the 40th president of the United States, and elected twice. Reagan carried over the strength he maintained while holding the office of governor in California for two terms. Reagan was optimistic in starting a program aimed at stimulating individual Americans to reduce their reliance on big government. America became progressive with growth and and an optimistic view of the future. However, I disagree with your findings that Bush is the weakest. Historically, Carter is viewed as the worst with the best intentions.

I don't know. Reagan and Bush were both quite athletic and muscular young men. George W. Bush has certainly maintained his physique into his sixties. Not sure how strong he is, though.
I heard that Taft could wrestle a grizzly bear to the ground and then go home and make love to his wife covered in grizzly blood and bits of fur.
Really? Taft?
Yeah, I'm lying.

Washington Formed the Nation By his Guidence and after being Offered a Crown Denied it to assure the Presidency would survive, Something Very Few Men could do. Lincoln Risked Everything On Holding It together. FDR Stood Up to the Power of a Mad Man and Reagan Stood up to a Mad Country. Bush is Standing Up to a Mad Religion.

FDR won a war against true evil and won a war against the Great Depression. Reagan is burning in hell as I type this (I wonder if thinking about him being in hell makes the flames hotter?).
