This question mixes Science with religion. Science is founded on experimental observations whereas religion is faith based.

One way to look at it is to define God as the origin of all phenomona for which we don't (yet) have an explanation. That seems implicit in some of the answers so far. By this definition, God MUST exist, because there are still things we don't understand.
If you don't know or understand something, attribute it to God and don't worry your pretty little head over it. Why look for the origin of the meteors laden with water molecules that struck Earth and made life possible?... It must have been God. (Now that I'm writing this, I'm reminded of Sidney Harris's famous cartoon: http://mises.org/images4/HarrisMiracle1.jpg)
Let me pose a followup question: IF the existence of things such as watery meteors and DNA prove that (some) God does exist, what (if anything) does it prove about sin, slavery, homosexuality, going to war, polygamy, stem cell research, charity, chastity, being born again, doing good works, working on the sabbath, eating pork, or pre-marital sex?
Also, assuming God is responsible for the origin of the universe and all life, where did God come from? I suspect some people will answer that God always existed. In that case I ask if it's possible for God to have always existed then what's to say that all the matter and/or energy in the universe now didn't always exist?

Conservation of energy doesn't always hold in the way laypeople understand them. In quantum systems energy obeys the Heisenberg uncertainty principle. Energy dE can come out of existence for a period of time dt, where dEà dt ⥠h (the uncertainty principle). This is called a quantum fluctuation of the vacuum. This phenomenon has been experimentally confirmed and is responsible for the black hole radiation. It is speculated that the net energy dE of the entire universe is very close to zero, and by applying the uncertainty principle, you come up with a very large dt (the existence time of the universe). In other words, the universe might be a quantum fluctuation and essentially came from nothing.

None can prove the existence of god with a scientific explanation or even prove the vice versa.

Look, the God have different names, depend about source. In some movies they call him THE FORCE, some peoples call him EXALTED, some call him ENERGY, I call him "TAILOR OF THE DESTINY" e.t.c. For an virtual presence as the God is you have not scientific explanation. But the fact is that exist SOMETHING what create systems all over the Space (Universe). What it is..nobody knows. Explanation for this could be the fact that normal human, in maximum of his/hers intelectual effort use just 38% of brain. Why we can not use remnant of 62% of the brain nobody can answer. Best Regards and veradisca! Neven.

The existence of a God is a belief, and his existence is limitless. i.e. that fact that you envision God as an entity means you have put bounds around him. Even if you proved there was a God, could you prove or disprove his belief in his own God?
The answer is no.

actually you can.. but i don't think you will believe it..
i can't prove there is god.. that is for sure.. no one can..
but the world that we live right now, existed in a very unusual way..
the earth was only a rock, until it was hit by a big meteor, sending it into a specific location in orbit, making the temperature and atmosphere of earth suitable for life..
but what scientist has discovered was the meteor that hit earth, and smaller ones that hit almost all other planets, they all has something in common..
almost all of them has water molecule and organic material.. which made all life on earth possible..
where it came from, still a mystery..
maybe god, but no one can prove it..

1) All physicists agree, there's no particle in the universe that's not related to some other phenomenon in nature. Reason will confirm therefore that the universe is one, if everything is related to something else. All physicists also agree, there's no vacuum in this oneness/nature. In other words, there's no such thing as "nothing" regardless of appearance. Reason would confirm again therefore, that nothing SEPARATES ANYTHING regardless of appearance.
It is this one, universal, inseparable, unified, reality, consisting of all worlds, visible and invisible, and all the laws governing them, that humanity calls by various names.
2) All physicists agree NOTHING derives from itself. In other words, you cannot get something from nothing, anymore than you can get one(1) from 0(zero). Everything therefore must have some antecedent. Reason will confirm therefore, there must be some FIRST cause from which everything is derived. And it is this FIRST CAUSE humanity calls by various names.

God is nothing but name of the infinite.
You are also having a part of the divine....
So, proving god is like looking into the mirror.....You don't need to prove yourself....Do you?
