The more you walk around barefoot the tougher they get.

Eventually they will be tough enough to walk on everything.

I have been walking Completely Barefoot for 31 years now since I was 16 years old, and YES, I have the super Tough Calluses, and completely Black bottomed Bare Feet. to walk freely over hot, cold or rough surfaces like gravel.

I've never tried hot coals, that's more of a trick than a sign of toughness, after all there are firewalking seminars that people who always wear shoes and don't have tough callouses at all take part in. But everything else is fine, sure. I actually like gravel better than smooth tile or grass, it's a pleasant sensation. And I don't care much about thorns, thistles and brambles usually don't bother me.

Yep. I'm barefoot 24/7 and love doing everything barefoot. I go shopping, dining, hiking, working, driving all barefoot. I love the comfort and freedom of being barefoot. There are many health benifits to being barefoot as well. My feet got tougher as I barefooted more and more and now my feet are better than any pair of shoes.

Mine aren't. But I guess the more you walk around barefoot, the more calloused your feet will become, and the easier it will be to walk almost anywhere barefoot.

I prefer heat, so I probably can't walk on larger or sharp rocks. But, if I don't have to go for shade after standing for only a couple of seconds, and if the shade also isn't burning hot enough to be a challege when standing--then it's not hot enough. As long as I'm not getting 3rd degree burns--I'll even tough it out all the way to blisters if I need to get past a heat tolerance limiit, as long as I can end barefooting and go home without having to do any longer walking on blisters. Two or three rounds of blisters and I can usually stand long enough for the burning tingling to go away, and I can do extended hot walking without feeling increasingly painful burning. Blisters doesn't mean the entire foot, just the parts that are less heat tolerant.
