From the sound that you described, I would look at the hard drive first. I've had many go out on me fitting that exact same description

Ok, this sounds like it overheated, and Windows files were corrupted / damaged before it died on you the first time.

You will need to first, replace any coolers inside, power up without the hard drives and see if it display the BIOS in a stable condition, if yes, plug in hard drive and choose Safe mode and do a System estore and roll back to the day before and see if you are lucky or not, else you need a Repair Install to correct the damaged file problem.

The sound could have come from teh hard drive too, so by ubplugging the hard drive, you also elimination the other parts

Check that the fans are spinning when you power it up... at minimum there is one in the back of the power supply and there is usually one on the CPU and there may be others.

It sounds like either the power supply fan has failed or the CPU fan has failed... causing something to overheat. I'd guess it's the power supply fan and the thermal protection on the power supply is cutting in.

If it's the power supply fan you *may* be able to start it by removing all of the fluff that's collected in the fan, but if you can't you need to replace the power supply.

If it's the CPU fan you may also be able to rescue it by de-fluffing it.

If it's the power supply fan that's failed *DO NOT* attempt to replace the fan yourself. There are lethal voltages in there even when it's powered off. Rerplace the entire power supply or get a shop to replace it for you. Go for at least the same power rating.

I think the problem is because of windows system file is corrupting. It courses by VIRUS, I think. You've scanned for virus already but there is nothing. As my experience, you can log to Safe Mode by press F8 while it is rebooting. If you can log to Safe Mode then you can check for virus... it depend on ya experience. But if you can not log to Safe Mode the only way is repairing Windows. "Repairing windows does not effect to your programs or document. Make sure that you know how to repair it. it should lost ya document if you take a risk.

i had the same problem only mine fixed itself after i scanned and deleted virus's i had. i used spybot s&d 3 times after that everyting was ok ,,, but im noticing now it is still very slow but has stopped crashing
im guessing you cant get into your computer at all now?
depending on what virius's and stuff are around they can trick your avg and spybot making the result clean. that happened to me before they came back clean but infact my computer had virus's and spywear my brother always fixes mine.
i had that with my last computer it stopped dead wouldnt turn on at all
my brother managed to connect my comp to anyother so i could get my files on disk but i had to through comp in bin
only thing i can sugest is taking it to a computer shop

It sounds as in the experience that your laptop is over heating as you thought, if it is a recent difficulty you will in all risk opt to open the case and sparkling out the dirt (in case you have never carried out this). there is in all risk dirt on the processor fan it may desire to be clogged and not working, this could reason the different followers to paintings harder so as that the processor would not overheat.

sounds like you may have a fan that went out. take the cover off your computer and observe while your computer is restarting. if your fans are running correctly try removing ram one at a time restart and if your computer starts up fine its a ram card.
