and if its not legal, why is it tht u cant know the gender of the child in Australia

i live in Australia and you have the choice to find out the sex of the baby at around 20 weeks

Of course it's legal! Why wouldn't it be? The doctors won't tell you with 100% certainty though as there is room for error and they have to cover themselves from possible lawsuits from parents that are peeved if their baby comes out a different sex than first thought. If they can see what sex the baby is, they will tell you they are 80% or so sure.
