Infants needs lots of calories to grow and develop properly and if you give them water, that will make them feel less hungry and decrease the amount of formula or breastmilk they are receiving. Yes, they can. It is not however recommended. They get ample water from breast milk or formula and at this stage of their life, with no food intake, they need to be getting all the nutrients they require, and not filling up on water.

yes it's fine but untill they're older use sterile water NO SUGAR I'm sorry but I don't agree with any sugary products even if just a little. They don't need it and it is bad for upcoming teeth- plus you don't want them to get use to this or they'll never go back.

I don't think you are supposed to give a baby water at all. I wouldn't unless your doctor says its okay first!

yes sometimes in between feedings if they wake up and want to eat you can add a little sugar into the water so they won"t choke
