Don't worry about it! First of all, the Mayan calendar never really formally ends. One of their cycles ends on what works out to be the year 2012 for us, then at the same time that cycle ends a new cycle begins. The majority of the world uses the Gregorian calendar as you probably know, our calendar ends on the 31st of December every year and then starts up again on the 1st of January every year.
Basically what happens in 2012 is that one of the Mayan's cycles ends, and a new one starts. It happens every year for us, it's just that their calendar is much much longer than ours is (one cycle for us is 365 days, whereas their cycles are hundreds and hundreds of years.)
I believe we're currently in the 4th cycle of the Mayan calendar. That means that the Mayan calendar has ended cycles three times before it will in 2012. Apparently nothing happened the last three times the Mayan calendar cycles ended, I mean quite obviously human beings are still around and didn't vanish off the face of the earth the last few times the cycles ended.
Finally, the Mayans never predicted anything would happen at the end of the fourth cycle. All of the "end of the world" stuff about 2012 and the Mayan calendar was pretty much created by people in like the last quarter century, not the Mayans themselves.

According to the Mayan calendar, my sign is a rabbit, which means i am very active and running here and there all the time, capable of doing many things at the time.... and it's all true. Sometimes I even feel I can't sit still, or I feel like enjoying the moment, like a rabbit on a beautiful sunny meadow chewing on a straw...
therefore I believe that, as the Mayan calendar says, some change will come about at the end of 2012 - but I also believe it's all up to us, people of the world, whether this change is going to be positive or negative.
If we keep on living as if the issue of taking care of the planet, or the issue of peace, don't concern us, then it's probably going to be a negative change. And if we realize, in time, that it's ALL UP TO US, then we might be lucky enough to see the birth of a new age.
Who's with me?

Nah. Don't worry about it. Scary? The Mayans world ended a LONG Time ago. I Would not concern myself. I'd concern Myself with What Dubya's calendar says More than The Mayans Calendar.
The same thing will happen that happens when other end times Came and went. They'll say they read it wrong or something intervened or some such Bullsh*t and you'll hear a New "END OF DAYS" prediction.
Don't You Believe It!
Enjoy.

Something may or may not happen. But the significance of this date lies in the fact that it is a day when the sun and earth are directly aligned with the recently discovered black hole in our galaxy that the Mayan knew existed milenia ago. . . .
Maybe some of you have heard of The Web Bot Project, but for those of you who have not, it's quite intriguing.
The Web Bot Project, developed in the late 1990's, was created to assist in making stock market predictions.
The technology uses a system of spiders to crawl the Internet and search for keywords, much like a search engine does. When a keyword is located, the bot program takes a snapshot of the text preceding and following the keyword. This snapshot of text is sent to a central location where it is then filtered to define meaning.
But in 2001, bot operators began to notice that stock market predictions were not the only matters being accurately predicted by the program. They began to take notice of coincidence with occurrences and explored it further.
One of the first accurate predictions from the bot program took place in June of 2001. The program predicted that a life altering event would take place within the next 60-90 days. An occurrence of such proportion that it's effects would be felt worldwide. The program based it's prediction on "web chatter" which ultimately represents the collective unconscious of society.
Regrettably, the bot program's prediction proved accurate and the Twin Towers fell on 9/11/2001.
Here's where it starts to become very interesting. The bot program also predicts a worldwide calamity taking place in the year 2012. . . . .

There have been many predictions about Ragnarok, and they have all been wrong. Indeed, they will always be wrong, because no one can foresee the future. The Mayan calendar was in cycles. If their culture had existed longer, they would have just made a new cycle. Nothing unusual will happen 12/21/12. I'd bet much money on that and be certain of winning.

No. the international can't end and also you're literally unlikely to die. trust it or no longer, human beings were predicting "doomsday" for 1000's of years. There have even been proper days envisioned contained in the previous, and are literally familiar because the "large disappointments." 2012 is in simple terms the most modern that human beings have wanting to communicate about. the perfect prognosis is, no one -- no longer the non secular, no so-referred to as prophets, no longer the Mayans -- can see the destiny, and earth isn't on a predictable course in route of destruction. keep in mind, modern day scientists recognize so much better about the earth and the universe than the Mayans did, and they see no forseeable end! relax! it truly is a collection of propaganda!

There really should be a new category about this so-called "apocalypse" from the amount of questions I have seen posted about it...
I am positive it will not end, because I don't take to mind any of the superstitious words of a long-dead civilisation.
People were claiming the world would tip over on its axis in the year 2,000 and the Y2K bug but where is the evidence for those play-by-fear predictions now?

predicting the apacolypse has been going on since Nero was throwing Christians to the lions, every turn of the Century, every end of the millenia, the 7th Day Adventists had their day in 1912, the Jim Jones cult and wacko in Waco both had their days, every passing of Haley's comet, eclipse of the sun and other end-of earth prophesies that i'm sure i missed.
Do the Mayans have a corner on the predicting the end market? One thing you can be sure of, the arsenals of the US and Russia can obliterate a million Hiroshimas.....anyway, sleep tight.

yes at exactly 11:11 ut but..... more on that later
.
i dont think we will blow up or anything but as the mayans ,the i ching , edgar cayce and countless other seers or psychics have predicted the world as we know it will change on that day.
now for you skeptics doyou really think it is coincidence that several civilizations have all seen the end of this world at seperate times seperated by thosands of miles and centuries in time all pointing to the same date ???
the bible points to it though not that specific
also a once in a 26 yr planetary alignment with the center of our galaxy occurs on this date
.
now whats gonna happen .... honestly dont know several possibilities...but here we go
1) the bibles version of armageddon
2)a drastic switch in the magnetic poles causing widespread destruction
3)a cosmic ray blast
4)a solar event large enough to burn the earth
5)being trapped buy a black hole causing the planet to move away from moon causing widespread destruction
6)global thermonuclear war
those are the theories ive heard guess we will have to wait 5 yrs and 7 months to find out.

its the end of the cycle of the mayan calander -- its not meant to be the end date of the universe. think about it this way -- the calendar on your wall ends in december but you don't think the world is going to end because your calendar did do you?
people make such a fuss over things they don't understand. don't believe their hype.
