The first thing is - REDUCE SALT.
2- Reduce red meat, sugars and oils (use only olive oil and apple cider vinnager)
3- Take Magnesium
4- Take some vitamins with Vitamin C, E, B6, Folate and B12 and if possible CoenzymeQ10.
5- Take olive leaf tea - it drops a lot blood pressure
6- Do some exercise like walking
7- If after all this the pressure is a little high take Crataegus and Omega 3.

blood pressure is a very personal thing and is a symptom of many causes - many of which are biological but not medical;

for example:
height - tall people have higher blood pressure than short people
health - sick people have higher blood pressure than well people
age - older people have higher blood pressure than the young
weight - overweight people have higher blood pressure than thin people
physical activity - blood pressure goes up during high physical activity, but drops below normal after the activity
time of day - blood pressure rises starting at about 9-10 AM and drops at around 7-8 PM (unless you are still partying)
temperature - warmer temperature increases blood pressure (because the body has to work overtime to cool down the core body temperature)
emotional state - emotional people or BP rises during an emotional situation (like gearing up for a fight-or-flight)

the best thing is to determine the individual normal blood pressure first (by monitoring the blood pressure 3x/day every 24/7 for 4-6 weeks); get the average (which will serve as your baseline BP) and compare subsequent readings - we are assuming, of course, that during this monitoring period, the "patient" is normal - no health condition, etc;

Supplements: Calcium, Magnesium, Garlic, L Carnitine, L glutamic acid, L glutamine, Selenium, Co Q10, EFAs (flaxseed oil) Vitamin C, Lecithin granules and Vitamin E. A strict salt-free diet is essential, and all animal fats (meat and dairy) should be avoided. Primary protein sources should be from vegetables, grains and legumes. Avoid all alcohol, caffeine and tobacco. Fast for three days each month to periodically cleanse and detoxify the body. Get regular exercise, and keep your weight down.

Hawthorn Berries tablets, Magnesium, Tart Cherry tablets, CoQ10, Grape Seed Extract, Ameal S tablets. Magnesium is espcially helpful as are Hawthorn berries. Imbalance of Potassium/Calcium can raise blood pressure, but do not take Potassium tablets w/o consulting your doctor to check your potassium level to see if it is low, imbalnce of potassium can cause heart problems, electrolyte imbalance. Lay off the salt and sodas. Mild excercise, lose weight if needed, do deep breathing and meditation 2-3 times a day, avoid getting angry if possible. Good luck to your friend!

I would recommend dietary changes (decrease caffeine, salt, etc) and chiropractic care. The Vagus nerve and brainstem have a relationship with blood pressure. Upper neck adjustments can lower blood pressure dramatically and naturally. See the link below for the latest research proving this. Good luck!
