We are creating a short film and despite having several friends who were pregnant, all have given birth and lost their preggo hormones. We need to create false positive for a closeup of the test and need to duplicate it for multiple takes. Does anyone know what we can use or mix with urine to create a false positive test? All suggestions are welcome. We will most likely use Clear Blue Easy and EPT Tests as they are willing to reimburse our costs for a credit on the film if (when!) it shows at Sundance. Thanks!

This sounds extremely shady. Not that I think that was your intention, or what I think...ONLY how it sounds... But, I don't think there really is anything you can mix to make it postive. Why not use a marker to make it look positive? That's all it looks like, a marker that had started to run a little. If you wanna make it look as real as possible, take the test and try to match the color and way the results look. I have a positive test here, too bad it wouldn't work or I'd send you a pic of it LMAO.

Well, It happens a lot. Many women are pregnant without ever knowing it and miscarry before they find out. There is also a tumor that produces hCG in the same amount that pregnancy produces. Or, it could have been a molar pregnancy, which in a complete molar pregnancy, there is NO fetal tissue. So, yea you could get a positive on the test and not be pregnant. DESILUVSGREEN- You produce the hormone when you are not pregnant, from the tumor. men actually produce the hormone as well, though their levels only go up to 5.

the test reacts to the hcg hormone that a woman produces when she's pregnant. I'm not sure of any artificial ways to fake a positive test, but you may be able to get answers from a doctor (especially an ob/gyn). If you know a nurse hotline (a lot of insurance companies provide the number for one) that might be a good first step. Otherwise I'd just call my doctor and ask them and explain why. If all else fails, there's always google =D

Try getting the kind of test where it has the PH strip (where lines show up) and very carefully remove the cover and use a fine tipped pink felt pen to draw your lines. (you might want to draw them in pencil first to be sure they're perfect.) Then pop the cover back on and poof, you're pregnant.
That's just about all I can think up short from standing outside a maternity shop in a mall and asking a pregnant lady to pee on it for ten bucks. LOL

lol, just go to planned parenthood, they will let you look at positive one. The thing is not all tests stay positve in appearance, thats why they are timed tests.
You know, if someone gave me that line when I was pregnant I would believe and pee on a stick for them........so, go find another pregnant chick......
I also don't see why you can't use one of those with the little pink lines....easy enough to draw in.......one with the little blue ball......food coloring in a dropper.....

There are some that you can pry the plastic cover off the top and change the results. We did this once in high school as a April fools joke. But those new eletronic kind it wouldn't work with. Getting a pregnant woman to pee on it would help, but sometimes the results tend to fade, it would depend on how soon you were shooting the results. Good luck with the movie!

Certain medications can give a false positive - but other than that, I can't think of anything else...
You could always find a urine donor...
If you can buy "drug free" urine to get past drug testing, then there MIGHT be a market for "positive pregnancy" urine - but it would be better to search (or place an ad) on a sight sucn as Craigslist

I'd just try and find a pregnant person to pee on one for you .. or you can take a purple marker and draw in the + sign on the test.. that will work for a close up shot.

I don't think that's easily possible to do. Just go out and find a pregnant woman. Buy her lunch or something.
