Of course, the Hindus believe in many chances to do well through many lives. I am not so sure this is the case...I am a Christian. But I would like to believe I am going to be around forever!

I was able to understand my present life and purpose more clearly when I discovered who my husband and I were in our last life. But, I think that is rarely the case and it is unnecessary. Focusing on your calling in this life and being true to yourself is enough. The Gospel of Thomas may help you understand Jesus message in the New Testament better. All things are possible and heaven is abundant life, full aliveness in every now moment. (eternal aliveness) We literally live by faith (what we have learned to believe is true) and we will keep coming back until we get it right.

It is feasible to think that there is life many times over...

Reincarnation is a very neat way of thinking of life and death...kind of a waste not want not type of thing if you think about it.

I'd like to think that it happens the way it does in the movie What Dreams May Come...where you can stay in the afterlife or where you can choose to be reborn again. That would be awesome.

That was the reason Jesus Christ was resurrected on the third day, to overcome death. From the bible we know that after the second coming of the Savior, all will be restored to their original frame. We will get our bodies back in a perfected and glorified state. That was one of the biggest effects of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. So you will be around forever. And you don't have to worry about coming back as a chicken, or a slug. :o)

"I would like to believe" is precisely the nature of our existence. You will not be around forever. You will die. You will decay and become dust. We make keep a cadaver around us through some ridiculous funeral rituals, but your time on this planet is finite.

Both beliefs systems allow people this illusion. Of course, if you were going to be around forever, it wouldn't really matter if you died or were killed this year versus 50 years from now.

a place called 'The Guff' where Souls wait to Be Born...
The end of day's begin when the guff is empty and the trumpet is sound.

We are all going to be around forever: first death, then comes the judgement. Some will live eternally with our Lord, others condemned to eternal damnation. Se ya there, Sister!

yes, there are many theories on life.
but i believe life goes on after death.
that maybe after life on earth, you will be sent to either heaven or hell.
after that, earth, and again heaven or hell.
i think you well be sent back to earth as a human, or a creature, to redeem yourself worthy of heaven, and that if you repeatedly are sent to hell you'll be sentenced to an eternity of suffering.
well this is just what i think.
but only God knows.

It's perfectly feasible to think anything you have no reason to disbelieve.

If Christianity is feasible, why shouldn't this be?
