i had an accitent and need to replace my front bumper, headlights, fenders, and hood. the body shop told me it would cost about $2000 more to use USED OEM parts than aftermarket parts. is it worth it spending the extra money (i have to pay not insurance) to use original parts or are aftermarket parts also just as good?

If you wuld like to keep the car like new for resale then it is better to go with oem. but if you plane on keeping the car and the parts look good. Then go with an after market part. you can always cange it later. But the resale value will go down with after market parts.

usuaslly anyone who sells after market parts, they aren't metal like oem parts because of copyright issues. they are fiberglass or plastic. they are a whole lot cheaper and you can get the upgraded hood and stuff like that for about half the price of oem parts. i done it on my 98 camaro ss. looks sweet now! good luck

It depends on the quality of the repair parts. since it is coming out of your pocket, I'm sure you will opt for the aftermarket parts.

Myself, I prefer the OEM parts.

good luck
