It can be very high, unless you're so well-qualified for the job that they don't bother with your references or are more interested in your other former employers.

It's a virtual guarantee. If you're currently working at one place, and you're interviewing elsewhere, your new employer will want to know why you're leaving your old job, and they'll want both sides of the story.
