I get pretty severe cramps during my period but for the last 2 months or so the cramps continue even after my period is gone. It's almost every day where I have a constant crampy pain. It seems to be lower than the period cramps though. I don't have any other symptoms. Any ideas what this might be?

I've been tested for STD's since my last sex partner, so it wouldn't be that. And I'm not extremely worried as the pain isn't severe, but it is bothersome.

Hi I have the same problem, but mostly seems to be on the right side. My doctor ordered an ultrasound last month. The results were that I have a normal developing cyst with no abnormalities. I have been prscribed annaprox for pain and swelling, but it doesn't seem to work well. My neighbor has something called Uterine emblassion(not sure if thats the correct spelling ) and has been fine since. I am not sure of your age but that would be for someone who is not planning on having any children, or is done with child rearding. I think that I am going to seek a second opinion, because it is not a pain you can live with. The only thing I can offer is to put heat on it when possible, and take an anti-inflamitory. But do discuss with a doctor and ask for tests such as an ultra sound, to find out what is causing this pain, and cramping. My pain is on the right side, and never seems to cease after my periods too. Please keep me informed, as I will you. Sisters in PAIN! jbabysgma

You could have many things. See a doctor right away. Make and emergency appointment. I would not advise visiting an er unless it is so sever you cannot stand it. I had this happen and was pregnant but you may have a cyst or something else and dysmenorrhea is a common and very treatable disorder. Talk to a doctor--pronto.

Try taking magnesium tabs around that time of the month. It is a natural muscle relaxer, and during that time, your body does get tender and tense in those areas, after all, they are muscles. It will help ease the cramps, and you will feel much better. Just one tab per day, 200mg, it's good for all your muscles and tissues, you can take it every day. Hope this helps!

Maybe you should see the OB Gyn since they are a little more in tune with that part of your body then you seem to be
