Put a video on PowerPoint?

How do I get a video on PowerPoint?

Every single one I download, the PowerPoint says "Cannot display this type of sound or movie"

I don't get this anymore, I've been trying for over 2 hours.

PowerPoint support only avi format use any video convertor to convert to avi or use smart movie convertor
