1) Availabilty

Information on Hitler and Nazi crimes was more readily available then that on Stalin in the 1930's and 1940's, as Germany was a cetral European country more integrated economically with the West then Russia.

2) Political

The USSR was a needed ally throughout WWII- therfore the western governments saw it in their best interests to supress the crimes of the USSR while using propaganda to publicize Nazi Germany ones.

These attitudes and beliefs carried on into Post WWII and the cold war, as an uneasy existence with the USSR evolved.

Hitler was more evil than Stalin. You're the idiot if you don't realize this.

Stalin was a monster, yes. He killed millions, yes. He was evil, yes. But he was not making a deliberate and methodical effort at genocide. He was killing anyone that may some day be a threat to him. Being paranoid and having way too much power he went seriously overboard.

But you have to recognize that just because us "idiots" think Hitler is more evil, that doesn't mean we think Stalin was a nice guy.

I consider them both pretty evil. Consider this, Stalin's mass killings were mostly before WW II (100,000 a year), and mostly from his purges and 'collectivization in early 30's with the latest estimate of around 20-30 million dead.

His genocide wasn't a full time occupation to his death, unlike Hitler, but that's where the comparison stops. When comparing the two, both were evil, both put people in concentration camps, both committed genocide, both were dictators, both...well you get the picture. The one factor Hitler had over Stalin tho, Hitler was insane. Stalin was just angry and distrustful.

Other things to consider,Stalin killed more people, Hitler started WW II, Hitler killed the Jews and some people in his nation, but he started the war that resulted in many troops dying on both sides. Hitler may be considered the greater of both evils; tho Stalin killed more people it is said, Hitler's action ensured that those loses were as high as possible.

It is my conclusion that Hitler may be the 'evil-er" of them all, but comparing them is ludicrous, now that i think about it, so just forget about it!

Many people are responding to the social stigma of saying Hitler's name. The jewish community has made it seem like Hitler was an extremely evil person. Now im not saying what he did was right, but if you think about it, what would drive a man in the midst of a war to kill so many people. Honestly if you think about it you would realize he had reasons. The Jews deny it and they will never accept it and anyone who ever hears what i am about to say will call me an anti-antisemitic and some other useless terms i could care less about.

Jews have a lot of power in this world. There religion is much more strict then ours and their parents are usually better of. If you go to one of those fancy schools in the east you will see that 90 percent of the population there is jewish.

I dont want to go further into this at the risk of being an "antisemetic" or have someone insult my grammer.

There's actually a book by Joachim C. Fest that compares and contrasts both Hilter and Stalin. It's really scary how Hitler's and Stalin's lives mirror each other to a certain extent. Bottom line: both men were evil and excessively driven to do what ever they thought was necessary to keep their power and purge those they found a threat.

Trying to draw fine distinctions between evil men seems pretty idiotic to me. Was Jeffrey Dahmer more evil than John Gacy? How long is a piece of string?

Schools in the east are full of Jews. Therefore, Hitler had to kill them. Or something.

No, they aren't idiots, they are just illiterate is all. Hitler was the Big High Mucky Muck so everybody thinks that he was the worst of them all. In order for people to know what really went on.....they would have to actually pick up a book and read......and they wouldn't want that now would they!

It is arguably true. Both killed millions, but Hitler killed people as an end in itself, while Stalin killed millions as a means to an end.

Because it suits Western propaganda. Russia was our ally in WW2, and even during the cold war, we had a lot of secretive ties to the Soviet Union.

To admit the truth about Russian dictators that we help to prop up financially (IMF-World Bank) and helped them to kill millions would be admitting ourselves (The US) as an accessory.

I don't think we need to argue who was more evil in this case. Suffice it to say they were both monsters who felt nothing of sending millions of fellow human beings to their deaths.
