I'm on the Netflix 19.47 per month plan and I get three at a time plus 18 hours of streaming downloads per month, which surprisingly, have turned out to be pretty cool. While the streaming option doesn't yet have the newest and coolest releases like the kind you can get through the mail, I have watched really neat ones that I never would have thought to choose, so it's been an eye-opening experience.
One note on the frequency--I dropped down to two and it seemed as though it took longer between movies than having three. I recall seeing a news article about how they sort of rig it a bit, but I don't know the details.
I've been with Netflix for about two years and can say I really like them. I've used their account on hold feature twice, and it's really easy. Also they have lots of variety--really organized well, and their recommendations are pretty cool. You can also trade recommendations with friends and see their comments about films, so there's a community aspect, too.
On the Blockbuster tip, I haven't had them myself but a coworker said it's really great because you don't have to wait to get the next one because you can just go to the Blockbuster storefront and their system treats it like a mail-in return. So if you're more in to modern, Blockbuster-type movies and you live close to one of their stores, it might be a better bet.
Hope this helps!

We went with Blockbuster and take advantage of their current plan to turn in the mailed one at the store and get a free rental from the store. We get an e-mail the same day saying it has been turned in and another the same or next day saying the next one on our list has been sent. We live in Dallas Texas and the mailed ones show up in 1 day or 2. The 9.99 plan allows one at a time and 3 a month, I think and we have never run into the limit (6 with the store ones) as we have to work to find time to watch the films.
Blockbuster does not define which DVDs have a described sound track for the blind, which we could use, Netflix is supposed to list them as films under the various languages.

I am a blockbuster user. I love the fact I can take my movies to the store and get 3 more to replace the ones I recieved in the mail. However, I am also a Blockbuster store member. Which basically means I can take my online movies to Blockbuster, replace those with 3 and rent 6 as a store member. 9 movies all together......and if you have kids......that is a wonderful thing.
BY THE WAY: it takes $19.16 a month off my credit card.

I started with Netflix about 3mos. ago. I am very happy with it. I upgraded to 3 at a time and pay $19 a month. They get the movies I send back overnight if I mail them before 4p.m. I get movies back about 2 days later. I used to rent a lot of movies at Hastings. They were $3.50 ea. plus picking them up and returning them. I am saving time and money with Netflix. I guess you can tell I like it a lot.

Go with Netflix! They are fantastic and have thousands of things you might want to see, not just movies, but TV series and documentaries, etc. And they are so fast. Plus, you create your own choice list in order of your own priority and they automatically send you the next on your list.
I have the two DVDs at a time deal and when I have two I watch one, put it out in my mailbox the next day, have the second to watch that day and the day after that I have another from Netflix as I am sending the second one back. I hardly ever have a day when I don't have something new to watch. (New to me, anyway)
I've never had a problem with them and I recommend them very much.

I have used both services and I liked Blockbuster total access better. You can take the movies you get online back to your Blockbuster and trade them for movies in store for free. They then send them back for you and you get your next movies from online in the mail. It is a great way to get even more movie rentals for what you are paying.

With BB you'll definitely get your money's worth. Even if you only got 1 online rental a week(which you will get more), exchange each of those 4 in store for a minimum of 8. You also get one free in-store coupon a month, can be used on games as well. Not bad for your $10.
If you are interested go to www.blockbuster.com/total and use promo code 36555B for your 2 week free trial and that first free coupon :)
