The 80s hard rock band Dokken. They were as good as any band of that era and better than most, yet they never got the airplay on radio that they deserved. They had amazing songs and guitarist George Lynch is (in my opinion) one of the greatest guitarists ever.Their most well known song is "Dream Warriors" from Nightmare on Elm Street 3. The 1986 release "Back for the Attack" is a classic, and the track "Mr Scary" shows off George Lynch's skill on the guitar better than any other of their songs.

Gotta agree with the other answer Dokken, but I also think the DiVinyls were very underrated

The Replacements...... They unfortunately had a self-destructive streak that kept them from making it big. If you listen to some of their earlier stuff, you can see what I mean.
