c). Maeve (MAH-EVE) - Maeve is a nice and common enough that most peopel should now how to say it

Dont choose name that is difficult to spell or pronounce if can. Many like it to be unique but to me its troublsome to tell people how you spell your name and how to pronounce it or worse they pronounce it wrongly or funny.. this can affect kids especially..
My daughter's name is unique, Cor..... means 'cheerful and good hearted' which is what we hope she can be. Never come across any same name for the last 11 years but sometimes do need to spell out to others. No regrets though.
My choice : Maiya then Mayuri.

a) If you spell Melanie that way, she will be correcting people her whole life.
b) If you name her this, she will always be mistaken for Melanie. Everyone will just think its a weird spelling of Melanie.
c) Nice name. My cousin is named Maive.
d) and e) are ok, if you like unusual names.
Hope this helps. :)

why would you give your baby a name that you have to spell out for everyone..do you plan on doing that whenever you sign your child up for school or an activity..thats an aweful thing parents do to a child..hopefully by the time your child is born you will have outgrown this phase your in. Give your child a nice normal name..there are plenty out there. Your childs teacher will thank you and you will save yourself future embarassment to you and your child

I like Melanie. It's embarassing for children to have weird names with weird spelling. Trust me, I won't even get into the names of my cousin's kids.
