The French have said it "Que sera, sera", which has long ago been part of a song I remember my parents teaching me decades ago, and was on the incredibly fantastic musical "Sound of Music". The French phrase means, whatever will happen, will happen. "Come what may" means the same thing. God Bless you.

It means, "whatever may come".

For example, "Come what may" (whatever may come of this), I will fart under the blankets even if you are there with me, if you cook baked beans and hot dogs for me tonight for dinner". Then, I would hope that what may come is that you do not get a good whiff of my bad behavior, so that what may come is that you either complain, or whack me with a pillow, or put me outside of the house.

In simple terms, it means; what will be will be. Whatever it is under discussion is now in the hands of fate and beyond your control. Outside forces will now decide the outcome of whatever it is. There is nothing more you can do to influence the result. This is a way of saying I am through, done everything I can and now I leave it all to fate, or chance, or the hands of God depending on your belief system...
